The development of a comprehensive planting plan to enhance the redevelopment of Batemans Bay Beach Resort including dune protection, wind protection for campers, entry statement and character creation.
Site Area
54,000 sq. m
Site Location
Beach Road, Batemans Bay, NSW
Batemans Bay Beach Resort was a run down, under-developed caravan park in a prime beachfront location in Batemans Bay NSW. Eurobodalla Shire Council took over the direct management of the park at the conclusion of a 20 year private lease with a view to significantly redeveloping the facility into a contemporary resort park.
As part of this site redevelopment, a comprehensive planting strategy was required to reshape and enhance the existing site vegetation matrix.
This planting proposal generated a renewed resort style character and a contemporary theme for this prime holiday location. The vast majority of species specified were native and well-suited to the coastal environment. Robust street furniture and low-maintenance hard landscape works were also included in the project.
