The existing building was doubled in size in order to provide a larger lending area as well as staff facilities and workroom over two levels.

Controlled filtered sunlight penetrates through glazing and clerestory windows in the stepped northern facade. The foyer can be secured for after hours use and has proven popular for displays and as a meeting area with local groups.
This winning design resulted from a competition conducted by the Shoalhaven City Council amongst local architects.
