Designing a Specialist Medical Centre – the Doctor’s Perspective

Doctors’ rooms in country towns historically operated from converted residences or retrofitted spaces in older commercial buildings. More recently, specialists have created their own facilities architecturally designed to cater for a specific health care discipline. The South Coast Orthopaedic Clinic, designed by Architects Edmiston Jones, follows this trend with a purpose designed building for the practice. The clinic includes on-site X-ray facilities providing comprehensive orthopaedic care for the Shoalhaven Community. We recently sat down with Dr David Cossetto from South Coast Orthopaedic Clinic to get a client's perspective on working with Edmiston Jones' to create this award winning building.
