Positioned between the north and south ends of Austinmer Beach, Headlands Hotel commands uninterrupted 180º views of the Pacific Ocean, with the escarpment rising to the west. It is a venue defined by place—confident, coastal and unmistakably regional. Awarded Overall Regional Hotel of the Year at the 2018 AHA National Awards for Excellence, the project reflects a clear vision aligned with operational performance. 

Edmiston Jones led the design and documentation of both the hotel and its 61 self-contained serviced apartments, shaping a hospitality destination that responds intelligently to sun, wind and outlook. Operable glazing and generous overhangs enable seamless indoor–outdoor dining, offering comfort in changing coastal conditions. 

Material selections balance durability with refinement, while planning places guests at the perimeter and services at the core to optimise staff efficiency.
