Providing a truly multidisciplinary design service, Edmiston Jones has in-house specialists to inform the design from initial concepts through to construction.
These skills are fundamental to any project and by integrating these experts in the team a holistic, solution is assured.
Here are some of our specialisations.
Access
Equitable access is a driving principle for every Edmiston Jones project. The strategies for access need to be thought through from the concept and monitored through the detailed design and documentation process. Our consultant Access Specialist and past Director, Steven Bayer, has a Certificate IV in Access Consulting.
Architecture
Architecture is both a process and the resulting product. It is the fusion of art and science to create built environments at the confluence of ‘people and place”. Edmiston Jones have an approach that navigates this complex, and increasingly legislated, process with a methodical approach. To truly understood people’s fundamental needs, the brief must be interrogated independently of the site. And to honestly respect a given site, it must be carefully considered independently of prematurely conceived solutions. This approach allows us to co-design spaces that are inspiring and enhance the lives of our clients.

Master Planning
Our aim is to plan safe, healthy and beautiful spaces that provide improved social connection, promote interaction with nature and achieve optimal biodiversity outcomes. We take an incremental approach, integrating built and landscape architecture. This is architecture at a macro level and our philosophy is consistent. The brief is interrogated separately to the site and, to respect the site, it is assessed independently of prematurely conceived design solutions. These investigations come together to create a sense of place that enhances the environment and encourages connection with the site.
