Regional communities are evolving rapidly, with young families, sea- and tree-changers, and professionals reshaping expectations of local hospitality. Shoalhaven Bowling and Recreation Club recognised this shift early, using the Covid lockdown period to strategically reposition the club for a broader, more diverse market. The opportunity was clear: honour loyal members while creating a compelling offer for new patrons. 

EJ Interiors worked collaboratively with Bluestone Building Group from the outset, integrating early construction advice into concept design and budgeting. This partnership provided cost certainty, buildability insight and program clarity—giving the Board confidence to proceed. Working closely with the General Manager and bowling community, we built alignment around a commercially viable vision. 

The refurbishment introduced a dedicated members’ lounge, reimagined dining areas and expanded decks that operate as elevated “viewing platforms” over the greens. The new Murphy’s Bar pays tribute to local sporting legacy while anchoring a contemporary hospitality experience. The result is a revitalised venue driving increased patronage, stronger brand identity and sustainable business growth.
