Relocating our studio to the heart of Crown Street Mall was more than a change of address — it was a strategic investment in how we work. Drawn by the opportunity to retrofit one of Wollongong’s underutilised “shop tops”, we transformed an unloved upper-level tenancy into a light-filled, connected and highly functional workplace tailored to our evolving practice. 

The custom-designed interior has delivered measurable value to our business. Spatial planning supports collaboration and focused work in equal measure. Integrated technology enhances efficiency. Flexible zones allow the studio to adapt as projects and teams grow. Access to the city’s cafes, services and public life has strengthened staff wellbeing and informal client engagement. 

Most importantly, the space reflects who we are. It fosters creativity, reinforces culture, and leaves a lasting impression on those who visit. Even a modest alfresco deck provides vital breathing space and connection to the outdoors. Our experience demonstrates how thoughtful retrofit and tailored interior design can unlock performance, identity and long-term value for small to medium businesses.
